Get to Know Your Agent
After receiving an Honorable Medical Discharge from the United States Army in 1996, I obtained my P&C and Life/Health agent’s license and began working in an agency for a large insurance company in Texas. At the time, I was selling and servicing Auto, Home, Renter’s & Life Insurance policies. In 2003 I went into property claims as a Large Loss Claims Examiner handling large homeowner fire & water losses along with other complex claims that were tied up in litigation. I later became the Claims Manager for an adjusting firm and worked the next six years managing adjusters through Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan, Jean, Katrina, Rita, Ike & Irene.
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, I served as a Project Manager for Global Risk Solutions. My duties included litigation support, team management, scheduling and overseeing the payout of over $130 million in claim payments to residents in Louisiana that were affected by the Murphy Oil Spill in Mereaux, LA and the class action lawsuit of Patrick Joseph Turner, et.al. vs. MOUSA. In 2010, I began working as an Account Manager for the 2nd largest Commercial Broker in Texas where he learned, prospected, sold & serviced the business insurance for medium sized business.
“In my 15 years in the industry, I have learned one thing… ‘The agent is only as good as the information he passes to his clients.’ Trust me to be open, honest, accessible & educational for all of your insurance needs.” – Josh Smith
